From St Albans with Love ;-)
Well it's a post with a little bit of 'James Bondy' element..he..he..he. Not much connection, except for the fact that our stop yesterday was Bond Avenue, St Albans, Victoria of course. It was Rozi's permanent dwelling here in Melbourne. They have settled down quite comfortably and invited us to visit. St Albans is about 40 minutes drive from Bundoora through the freeway, maybe less if not for evening traffic. While waiting at the intersection in St Albans, you can see that the population of immigrants there is just as much as the local Aussies, if not more. Thus, in a way you won't feel so out of place there. Perhaps it's not as trendy as Preston and it's surrounding, but all the necessary facilities is around St Albans or nearby suburb. I think St Albans has gone a long, long way from its earlier days.
Anyway, because it's a zone 2 suburb, you can actually get a comparatively bigger house with the same or even lower rent rates as you would have gotten in zone 1. A bit like Penang & SP, if you know what I mean. Rozi and family was fortunate to have secured a four bedroom house within walking distance to the children's school and Victoria University. She just walked them to school every morning and detour to the uni nearby. In fact, there's a train stop in less than a 100 meters from her house. So Zahar only needs to take the train to Melbourne Uni, instead of driving, which would be too costly.
We had an early dinner and stayed way past 8.30 pm. It's a lovely family house and very convenient, indeed. Even Aliyah & Uwais loved it. Running around all over the house. Hopefully Rozi get to retain the lease until her study term expires. It would be a shame and inconvenient not to. We wished them all the best.
Raudah entertaining Aliyah...
In Melbourne...there's no use dieting, especially in Winter ;-)
