A Healthy 5 Years Old
Hari ini Aliyah genap 5 tahun. Dah besar anak mama & babah. Tapi takdelah rasa cam baru semalam..he..he..he.
Anyway, semalam pagi2 beli kek for her dan teman Aliyah di kinder utk buat 'Maternal & Children's Health' bagi kanak2 3 tahun setengah Review. Sepatutnya dibuat selepas 3 tahun lebih, tp disebabkan Aliyah tak pernah buat Health Review lagi the Kinder arranged one with the City Council's nurse.
Macam2 test lah nurse Kerrie tu buat dgn Aliyah, test motor development - ask her to tip toe, hopped on one foot, crossed her legs -, test vision & fine motor - like colour identification, build block towers, copies a circle, square, cut paper with scissors, check her eyes -, test language & hearing - tanya things like nama, umur, jantina, nama family, address and some items the nurse brought along, and then the whispering test. Bila tang language ni kelakar jugaklah tgk Aliyah tenung lama2 nurse tu, macam nak telan pun ada - processing...processing - and then suddenly came out with the answer, which was correct by the way, except for the address part. I guess she gets confused with the word 'stay' and 'live'.

Anyway, the Health Review makes you feel that she's doing very well at Kinder actually. I was rather worried that she'd feel left out because of the language barrier. But as everyone kept telling you, children catch up with the language very fast indeed. Perhaps she's being more an observer than a participant nowadays, because she is still trying to learn the language. But we (nurse Kerrie & me) agreed that she's doing very well indeed.
Next order of the day... was to let Aliyah celebrate her upcoming birthday with all her friends at Kinder. I had to buy a cake with restrictions..he..he..he. No chocolates & nuts. Nampak mcm biasa jer, tp best jugak keknya. Tak beli lilin pun, sbb ingat nak suruh nyanyikan 'Happy Birthday' jer. Tp kinder dah biasa buat birthdays ni kan, so depa siap boh candle 5 years lagi. Kira berapa org yg ada, potong comel2 & pass around in party tissues. Hmmm... very organised. She's kinda stunned being at the centre of attention. But she went home glowing later that day. I think she enjoyed it very much. Especially the part where she's promised a doll house for her present....he..he..he
