Picnic Anyone?

Last weekend, we received an invitation to join a picnic in Bundoora Park organised by families in Bundoora. Since the invitation was last minute, so as usual our arrival was also modestly last minute. Modest since we brought nothing along, except for the children and our expertise in savouring the food.

Anyway, it was quite warm. The heat in Melbourne is unlike the warmth we are (not) so used to in Malaysia. It's plain hot & dry. Imagine feeling hot but unable to sweat it off. What most Aussies do is to strip themselves of almost all of their clothing and wander around half naked. Well, I can't practically do that can I? So I did the most logical things nowadays on hot days, splatter lots of sunblock, wear big sunglasses, wear my favourite cotton baju kurung, avoid all dark tudung and hide myself under my UV protected umbrella (specially bought & brought from Malaysia). Heck..even my black knapsack burns my back on sunny days in Oz. Thus, on most days, I'll leave home early in the morning & head back home very late in the evening, just to steer clear of the sun. And people say it's going to be even warmer in Summer...isk..isk...can't wait.

Back to the picnic, of course the children are the ones having most of the fun. Too much fun in fact, that at one point when heading home, Aliyah was still playing the slide and got left behind. Imagine the lecture I have to face for that (letting her be) all the way home. Lucky me, it was a short trip home.
