Kinder No More

 

Sofiyah's first year at a semblance of 'school' comes to an end on the 18th of December. I had high hopes that she will get a lot more from her kinder experience, but alas, it wasn't meant to be due to all the movement control orders. But, no doubt, she will be the only girl who will miss 2020, despite all its limitations.  The clever girl, despite being in and out of kinder for only about 4-5 months this year, along with her online classes, had managed to learn how to read well, for both languages, count up to a 100, and got to the basics of her Quranic readings, Alhamdulillah. 

Deep down, I felt sorry for her, but there's nothing much I can do about it. According to the rules, for she was born on the first of January, 2015, she needs to be enrolled in a primary school come next year. There's no chance for another kinder joy year for her, but I pray come next year she'll have a much more wholesome experience at her new school, Insya Allah.
